The History of Ebert’s: A Family Business with guest speaker, Daniel Model

For over 80 years, the Ebert family business at the corner of Soquel and Seabright Avenues was a cornerstone of the Eastside Santa Cruz community. While the business has since faded into history, Ebert’s continues to hold a special place in the hearts and minds of many Santa Cruzans. Daniel Model’s presentation will bring the Ebert’s story to life through a documentary film he created with the help of the Ebert and Eddy families. The film documents the story of Ebert’s and the Ebert family through first-hand accounts and previously unreleased family photos and home movies.

Daniel Model is an Eastside Santa Cruz resident with a passion for preserving and promoting local history. He conducts historical walking tours and assists in the creation of historical markers. His undertaking, The Eastside Oral History Project, has been a conduit for many local residents to preserve their families’ histories. Through his scholarship, Daniel helps local residents better understand and appreciate the history of Eastside Santa Cruz.
