Financial Knowledge for All: Elder Financial Abuse
Elder financial abuse is a crime that deprives older adults of their resources and ultimately their independence. Protect yourself and/or your loved ones with tools from this educational event. This course aims to provide people with the tools to identify the signs of theft, or misuse of a person’s assets or credit, and to protect the individual.
“Elder abuse is a silent problem that robs seniors of their dignity, security, and—in some cases—costs them their lives.Up to five million older Americans are abused every year, and the annual loss by victims of financial abuse is estimated to be at least $36.5 billion” - Get the Facts on Elder Abuse - National Council On Aging.
