Boulder Creek Branch Library Opening

Boulder Creek Branch Library Opening

The Santa Cruz Public Libraries (SCPL), in partnership with the Friends of the Santa Cruz Public (FSCPL) and the Friends of the Boulder Creek Branch Library, are excited to announce the grand reopening of the beautifully remodeled Boulder Creek Branch Library.

The Grand Reopening Celebration takes place from 12 – 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, at the Boulder Creek Library, located at 13390 West Park Ave. in Boulder Creek. The Community can tour the dynamic remodel, enjoy refreshments and entertainment, and access library services.

Opening day festivities begin with special guest speakers Yolande Wilburn, SCPL Library Director, and Bruce McPherson, Fifth District Supervisor. Local musical favorites Backyard Birds will perform their fresh blend of vocal harmonies from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Magician Mike Della Pena provides magic performances in the outdoor amphitheater at 2, and 3 p.m. SCPL Librarians provide storytimes and crafts for children and adults. Refreshments and flowers are generously donated by Jenna Sue's Cafe and the Homeless Garden Project.

"We are delighted to bring Library services back to the Boulder Creek Community!" Says Library Director Yolande Wilburn. According to Wilburn, the interior remodel includes new internet fiber, accessibility updates, and complete remodels of the children's area, Community, and meeting rooms.

The design was created by Jayson Architecture, with CRW builders and construction management by Bogard.
