STEAM @ Home Kits: Make a Rattle Drum
We provide the materials and directions - you pick them up and make them at home!
Create a rattle drum out of paper plates as you learn about sound waves and explore the science of acoustics. Make some noise to ring in the Lunar/Chinese New Year!
A limited number of kits will be available at each open branch (Capitola, Downtown, Felton, and La Selva Beach). The kits will be first come first serve, while supplies last. One kit per child limit.
Kits will be ready to pick up by 1:00 pm on January 26th.
These kits are suggested for children over age 5. This kit contains small pieces and may not be suitable for young children without adult supervision (choking hazard). Adult assistance may be required.
Required Materials:
Provided in Kit:
- Beads
- Dowel
- 2 paper plates
- Yarn or ribbon
Needed from Home:
- Markers
- Stapler or tape
