Santa Cruz County Workforce Collaborative: Career Coach and Mapping Tool

Santa Cruz County Workforce Collaborative: Career Coach and Mapping Tool

The workshops (one in English and one in Spanish) will cover our free Monterey Bay Career Connect website, which will then lead into our demonstration of our Monterey Career Coach tool. We will walk participants through how to take a short questionnaire career assessment, and then browse careers and programs based on the result from the assessment, or on searches if they already know what they are interested in. Browsing programs and careers on the website includes a description of the job or educational path, what skills and level of education is necessary, average wages per region, links to local educational programs, live job postings, etc. We will also show participants how to access our other resources, such as our resume builder.

This event is part of the Santa Cruz County Workforce Collaborative. This Collaborative is a partnership including the Santa Cruz Public Libraries, the Workforce Development Board of Santa Cruz County, the Monterey Bay Economic Partnership, Cabrillo College, and Goodwill Central Coast. The Collaborative brings a holistic approach to assist jobseekers at various levels of need by bringing together information about local workforce programs in the library's Navigation Center, creating a roadmap of services, and providing bilingual, 1-on-1, and workshop-based support to individuals in navigating the career development process.
