Celebre el mes nacional de la herencia hispana con Días de los Nuestros: Una celebración de arte, cultura y nuestra comunidad

Este año damos la bienvenida Ensamble Folclórico Colibrí, que celebra el Mes de la Herencia LatinX y el Mes de la Historia LGBTQ + a través de la danza y la discusión. Va ver una pequeña exhibición de trajes folclóricos y habrá refrescos. El evento es financiado por la beca de Cal Humanities que ayuda a proyectos de arte y cultura de nuestras comunidades inmigrantes en California. La beca también financiará un programa del Dia de los Muertos el 3 de noviembre en le sucursal de Felton.

Días de los Nuestros: A Celebration of Art, Cultures, and Community

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. This year, we welcome Ensamble Folclórico Colibrí, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and LGBTQ+ History Month through dance and discussion. All Ensamble Folclórico Colibrí  performances begin at 3 PM on the event dates. Event dates are:

Saturday, October 9,  at the Felton Branch Library
Sunday, October 10th, at the Santa Cruz City Hall Courtyard
Sunday, October 17th, at the Capitola Branch Library

A small exhibit of Folclórico costumes and light refreshments will be provided from 2-5 pm on the performance dates. The exhibits will be available October 1 - 9 at the Felton Branch, October 10 - 16 at the Downtown Branch, and October 17 - 23 at the Capitola Branch.  The event explores the art and cultures of our immigrant communities, and is followed by a Día de los Muertos Program in early November at 3 branch locations.
