Bee Smarts! Learn All About Bees with Girl Next Door Honey (Virtual Program)

Bee Smarts! Learn All About Bees with Girl Next Door Honey (Virtual Program)

Learn all about bees and their important role in our ecosystem with Hilary Kearney of Girl Next Door Honey. Learn about how these amazing pollinators live, work, and help our planet! A "Bee Smarts" Grab & Go kit (for ages 5+) will be available at Felton Branch beginning on August 25th, while supplies last.

Hilary Kearney is the author of two books on bees: Queenspotting and The Little Book of Bees. She founded Girl Next Door Honey in 2012 in her home town of San Diego, California after graduating from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in Fine Art. Breaking from tradition, she developed a beekeeping business that does not rely on honey sales or pollination services for economic success. Instead, Girl Next Door Honey focuses on bee-centric programs such as natural beekeeping classes, apiary management, classroom presentations, beehive tours, live bee removal and more!

A Grab & Go Kit seed kit will be available for the first 50 visitors to Felton Branch Library (supplies are limited and are on a first-come, first served basis), no registration for the Grab & Go kit is required, but registration is required for the virtual program.

This Program is kindly sponsored by the Felton Library Friends

Our Bee Smarts Grab & Go Kits are thoughtfully sponsored by Renee's Garden and feature pollinator-friendly seeds that you can plant outdoors when the rainy season comes (late fall). Simply follow the directions on your seed packet and help feed the bees! There will also be a honey stick included (never give honey to children under one year of age). "Bee Smarts" Grab & Go kits will be available at Felton Branch beginning on Wednesday, August 25th (supplies are limited).
