A Conversation with Josh Tickell of Kiss the Ground

A Conversation with Josh Tickell of Kiss the Ground

Please join us for a very special conversation with Josh Tickell, environmental thought leader and award winning director and author of Kiss the Ground. The event will explore ways Californians can come together and make both individual and collective change for a more sustainable future. Plan to join us on Earth Day.

Community members will be welcomed by Greg Lucas, California State Librarian. Josh Tickell will be joined in conversation by Stan Wang of OC Public Libraries and Stefanie Ulate of Monrovia Public Library. Chat will be moderated by Armando Rivera of San Leandro Public Library and Elaine Tai of Burlingame Public Library.

Registration is now open to all California library and community members. After registering, you will receive an email confirmation where you can manage your registration. This Book to Action event will be held via Zoom Webinar and will feature live captioning. If you need additional accommodations please email hmacriss@calbook.org at least two weeks in advance of the event. Register Here.

Book to Action 2021 initiatives tackle important issues in the community and encourage reading, community discussion, and action. The Big 3 themes that libraries and communities are focused on in 2021 are Equity, Sustainability, and Health. The Santa Cruz Public Libraries is partnering with the Watsonville Public Library and many community partners to bring an equity focused Book to Action program this summer. We will read Dear America: Notes of an undocumented Citizen by Jose Antonio Vargas. Stay tuned and ACT!

California Center for the Book is a program of the California Library Association, supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
