Life Literacies Center Open House

Life Literacies Center Open House

The Santa Cruz Public Libraries are excited to announce the opening of The Life Literacies Center at the Downtown Branch Library, 224 Church St, Santa Cruz, CA.

This new center will provide programs and services that support job readiness, service connections for people experiencing homelessness, housing navigation, access to County benefits, and support from Encompass Social Services. Some services will be provided in Spanish.

The Life Literacies Center partners with community organizations and volunteers to provide transformative and equitable programs and services to community members. Additional Life Literacies Center Services will be added as we are able to scale up with new community partners. We are particularly seeking partnerships that will enable us to provide free legal aid, English language development, resources for new Americans, and information about the 2020 Census.

If your organization provides social support or tools that nurture lifelong learning, the Life Literacies Center invites you to collaborate with us in this new shared work space. Individuals who want to volunteer are invited to call or email Jesse Silva, 831-427-7700 x7669 silvaj@santacruzpl.org for more information. Interested individuals may also visit us in the Downtown Branch Library during one of our programs to learn more about how to become a partnering organization and/or SCPL volunteer.
