Kermit @ The Downtown Santa Cruz Farmers' Market's FoodShed Project
The library's bookbike, Kermit, joins the Santa Cruz Farmers' Market for The FoodShed Project, bringing books and information about the library's programs and sevices to the market!.
The FoodShed Project (FSP) is an education and outreach program of the Santa Cruz Community Farmers’ Markets (SCCFM) which highlights the significant work being rolled out by farmers, food artisans and community partners in the nearest regions of our foodshed. All events are free, family friendly and hosted at the Downtown Santa Cruz Farmers’ Market. Presentations run 3-4pm. Foodshed Fact Hunt and Art Table runs 2-5pm. Music and other festivities 4-5pm.
For the month of August, the FSP presentaion is the Dios Mio, Tomatillo;
Owner of the beloved PINNACLE FARM Phil Foster steps up to the plate and shines a light on tomatillos – a fine fruit still unknown to some. MY MOM’S MOLE follows up with simple and savory culinary creations. Taste it, then make it at home!
