Shakespeare Saturdays: Much Ado About Nothing
Today's speaker is UCSC emeritus Professor and eminent Shakespeare scholar Michael Warren
Join us for Saturday Shakespeare, a unique 5-week program dedicated to exploring one of William Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies, Much Ado About Nothing. This hybrid program offers participants the chance to gather both in person and online to delve deep into the play through expert presentations, engaging discussions, and collaborative readings.
Each week, distinguished presenters will guide us through the themes, characters, and language of the play, sharing their insights on its historical context and its enduring relevance today. Following the presentations, participants will read selected scenes aloud and engage in group analysis to deepen their understanding of Shakespeare’s wit and wisdom.
The program will culminate in a special viewing of Kenneth Branagh’s acclaimed film adaptation, bringing Much Ado About Nothing to life on the screen.
