Chinese Gold Book Discussion with Sandy Lydon and George Ow
In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, you are invited to join local historians Sandy Lydon and George Ow for an in-depth group discussion of Lydon's book Chinese Gold: The Chinese in the Monterey Bay Region. During the month of May, we will read the book then gather for light refreshments and a lively discussion about the significant contributions our Chinese Community has made to Santa Cruz County, the challenges they faced and overcame, and current efforts to preserve this rich history and make it available for generations to come.
The Library has 20 copies of the book that can be provided in advance of the program to those who register. A PDF version of the book is also available to registrants. To receive the PDF version of the book, email cowend@santacruzpl.org after registering.
