GSSCC Lecture: Exploring the Un-indexed Records at Family Search, Junel Davidsen, lecturer
FamilySearch has a huge collection of record images, but many are not “name searchable” in the database. Researchers need to take a few more steps to find them. Taking the time of learn the steps can save research time and result in amaz-ing finds. This session will discuss different ways to access collections not yet indexed, and how to find records of genealogical importance.
Junel Davidsen, Certified Genealogist(R), worked in the San Benito County Clerk/Recorder’s office and as Assistant Registrar of Voters of Monterey County, California. After retirement, she obtained an AA degree in Family Research Studies from Monterey Peninsula College. She has been a Board-certified genealogist for 14 years. Junel has attended several genealogy conferences and training workshops, most recently the Midwest African American Genealogy Institute (MAAGI). Junel has held various positions on the Monterey County Genealogy Society board, including President. She is a regular speaker at local genealogy events. Junel is a professional genealogist specializing in courthouse and forensic research, and she assists families in finding missing relatives and estate administrators in locating next-of-kin.
