Youth Comics Workshop for Women's History Month with Story Architects Shawnee' & Shawnelle Gibbs
Have you ever wanted to learn how to make comics? Now is your chance!
Come join us online and meet Story Architects Shawnee' and Shawnelle Gibbs who have who have written for comics, graphic novels, television, film, animation, and more. The award-winning and award-nominated Gibbs Sisters are joining us virtually to show you how to create your own one-page comic in six panels. Come spark your creativity and learn from experts in their industry!
Shawnee' and Shawnelle Gibbs will talk about their background in storytelling, a a brief overview of sequential art, and why they love telling stories through comics! All you need is a pen, a blank piece of paper or a comic book template, and a computer to join! Everyone should be able to creat a one-page comic story by the end of the workshop, and come away with ideas for how to start future ones.

Presenter Bios: The Gibbs Sisters writing team, Shawnelle and Shawnee’ Gibbs, are the authors of the upcoming HarperCollins graphic novel, Ghost Roast. They have both served as Staff Writers for Warner Brothers Animation and have written for Dreamworks Animation, Cartoon Network and Marvel Comics. Originally from Oakland, California, the pair currently work, live and play in Los Angeles.
For youth, ages 9-18 and familes.
